I don't dine out very often either but when I do the service seems to be the same regardless of whether the server is male or female.

they both are, but men most offten make better tips for some reason people think men are providing and I don't know what they think women are doing

flip a coin, it depends on the place more than the individual. Some places won't tolerate crappy servers, some just hire for boobs, some let family work there, some hire ex-cons for the tax breaks. Each individual server makes it happen
