I don't believe we have souls. Why do you agree or disagree?

I believe everything has a soul even tree's and flower's.what do you define consciousness as then? if we were truly just a body and brain i dont think we would experience emotions? what are the purpose of emotions if all we are is a big mass of matter trying to survive? wouldnt they hurt more than help? i believe we are here for more than the purpose and living and dying :)

I believe we have spirits at least. Not so sure about souls but I think alot of people use those two words interchangebly. Why? Because I hope there is more to me than just a body with a working brain.

i disagree because spirituality is just as ingrained in our species as mentality and physicality. since humans have existed, we've been seeking something more than ourselves. there has to be something to it.

I know we do. I died and came back, you can read my experience. On a side note, I've been researching and studying the mechanisms of the brain..neuroscience and psychology in college for years (I'm not a blind faith kind of person) and when I had this experience, it blew me away.

I firmly believe that we have souls. We cannot see our spiritual qualities anywhere in our bodies, so we believe that they are in our souls. Our souls are real, unique, unchanged, hence they continue to exist in the spiritual world when we suffer the physical death.
The details about our mysterious souls are taught by great souls such as Moses, Christ, Buddha...and other Divine Messengers of God, the One True God Who has the power to create dust, life, spirit...and numberless universes in the realm of Creation and the realm of Revelation.
It is not the belief and learning in the omnipotence of God that limits our knowledge, but ignorance is caused by the subjective confining everything in the lowest form of matter: dust!

I totally agree with you. Its a sad/scary thought that when we perish we will literally perish but hey, thats life.

Obviously, you have never experienced an OBE. Animals do have souls. I have seen human and animal souls.

Almost everyone dives into this kind of question and almost everyone has a different definition...Can we agree on one usage? Otherwise we're just talking...

I disagree. I had a chance to go to heaven as a 14 year old girl and I chose to stay earthbound and mortal. So I know we all have souls and so do animals.

No, I don't, because I don't believe that when I die I will be immortal. As a matter of fact, I know it. I can not explain it but it's not something you can prove, it's something you understand. kittycat, we are just truly a body and brain, we feel emotions because we are taught. There is a part of your brain that actually controls your emotion, so your brain is your emotions. If you isolate a new born baby from everyone and everything else, and he manages to live(this has happened before), that person will have lack most emotions that we feel. Emotions are like character traits, if your exposed to it, you will learn it. I was raised in a very angry family, so now I have a bad anger issue. Not because I have a ******* soul.
