Some of us (ill be 40 in matter of weeks) and I joined online in the mid 90s and some of it is normal words for me. heck I know more internet / cell phone lanuange then my kids do and they are 19 and 21.

You know what's funny, I was actually going to make a question begging people to stop putting lol at the end of a post. This wanton "lol" usage is getting on my nerves. Seriously, unless something actually makes you "laugh out loud" don't use it.
It makes you sounds like a twelve yr old girl or a drunken hick. Cuz those are the only two people who gigle or laugh after every statement they make.

I just love how kids reach a certain age when they know they are no longer children, but can't accept that adults are the same species.
For your peace of mind, once we reach 40 we should avoid all activity that makes us look remotely similar to you.

its just a form of communication. Povided it is not over-used it is accesible and understandable to everyone. I would suspect a young bright person like you should have more passionate causes to tackle...
