I feel like sleeping all the time, and I can't focus on anything. Do you think I should go to the doctor?

Example: last night, I took a "nap" at 8:45pm but didn't wake up until 4:45am! I stayed up for about an hour (still really tired) then fell asleep again until around 8:30 this morning.

I have been under a lot of stress, and I'm thinking that could be it, but I just don't know. However, this wanting to sleep a lot and not being able to focus thing has been happening ever since I had the flu. (I'm over it now except for the cough, but the tiredness and not being able to focus has never gone away.) I guess it's only been about a week and a half since I got better, but I'm getting concerned about the whole thing and just want some opinions.

Yes, you should go to the doctor - something very similar happened to me last march- got sick -got over it but was exhausted - started having difficulty focusing - they tried to blame it on depression - handed me pills - didn't get better - thankfully, I threw a tantrum in the office because I didn't want to try yet another - different type - they did all kinds of blood work - Iron deficient and no Vitamin D - started my treatments and I am feeling sooooo much better - get your blood work done and also request the Vitamin D test -
Hope you find the answer

It wouldn't hurt, but, I get sleepy when I am really stressed, its almost like I am trying to seek an answer there. It could just be something you will have to muddle through

I probably wouldn't go to the doctor. I would start scheduling more sleep until I felt better. This sounds like a getting-over-the-remnants-of-the-flu kinda thing.

I have been like that. see a doctor as that sleeping pattern can lead to depression and moody thoughts

it sounds like sleep apnea
