Resolved Question

I find this question worrying, do you?

An Eper has admitted despising their 3 year old son!

They want to take him somewhere to get rid of him!

Did YOU ever feel that way about your children?

.................How did you change your mind?

I take everything people say here with a grain of salt. This person might just have been looking to shock people and get reactions from everyone. If they do "despise" their child than I feel sorry for the child and think it's horrible that someone would say that about their flesh and blood. My kids are my world and I love them with all my heart.

I don't find it worrying. People quit all kind of responsibilities (jobs, marriage, life), while some force themselves to endure despite being miserable. Maybe it's better for all involved if the children can go to a home where they're wanted. Don't be so quick to judge: sometimes birth control doesn't work as expected, sometimes there is deception about birth control, sometimes there is consequence of rape (and pressure to not have abortion), sometimes hormones affect someone after having a kid, etc. Some parents murder their kids, so if this parent only wants to abandon their kid, I think they should get support.

Hmmm....having a four year old means I can relate to having that feeling, as fleeting as it may be. Before I had kids I would never have imagined that one could feel this way.

Parenting is so hard, especially if one isn't properly equipped to handle it.

I can understand why this sort of confession would be worrisome. It could just be venting or it could be a sign of something worse.

I think that the best thing to do when you encounter someone like this is to offer options. Communicate with that person if it concerns you this deeply. Let them know that they can, indeed, drop off their child somewhere if they truly don't want him/her anymore.

I felt that way about my step-sons but they were 8 and 9 years old and I imagine if I left them somewhere they would find their way home.

Has anyone looked at this further, maybe she/he is having a moment and just venting which a lot of us use this site to do, maybe she is tired with no spouse and no support. Like the rest of us maybe she is having a bad day and like the rest of us has said something she does'nt mean. Don't be so harsh offer her someone to talk to and a soft place to fall a lots of us are'nt lucky enough to have that in our lives.

Lord no, I've never felt that way about either my son or daughter when they were three. Two to three is a very rough time for new parents, but if their home life is already stressfull and chaotic, the child probably senses that and it gets worse.

on the contrary, it's actually the right thing to do.
but only if they turn the child over to a proper new environment.

people have different threshold in terms of liking and some can't force themselves if they're really not up to it.

imagine the child, if stayed with them, will only suffer hate forever.

I'm with you, hon. I don't even have children of my own, but have two godsons and two small neices and I love them more than this woman seems to (not) love her own child. All I can say is that some people should be sterilized.

I love my 3 year old more than anything.

Are you sure they didn't say "Spouse"?

Wow! I'm a mother and while my kids have caused me many sleepless nights, many uncomfortable situations never, ever have I felt like getting rid of them. I would be really worried if someone said that to me and watch carefully. I understand joking around but not in that way.
