Yeah, it can be...but if it goes on a couple days call the dentist in case you have a dry socket which is miserable!

yep...it's gonna be sore for about a week. the doc shoulda prescribed u pain meds...if he didn't either go back or take 4 ibuprofen ever 8-12 hours...thats about the same amount as the presricption dose.

yes it's normal. if it keeps up for more than a week see your dentist. i have my wisdom teeth pulled and he ended up cracking my jaw. ouch.

purified is right. ibuprofen never worked on a headache for me. i thought it was useless. but it's like a miracle drug for a pulled tooth. and yeah, it's normal for it to hurt for a few days.

If it's just achey, then that's normal. If it's excruciating, then either it's infected or you have what's called a "dry socket." When you have a tooth pulled, a pocket of blood forms in the hole while it heals; this acts as a sort of protection. If you smoke or drink through a straw (any type of sucking) or sometimes for no real reason, the blood "bubble" goes away. This leaves the hole exposed, which will cause great misery.

The dentist will pack some stuff in the socket that will help with the pain while it heals.

Not Really! It could be abscessed! Not good! Go back and find out why it did that! It shouldn't have if all was done right at the start!
