Trying to find a job in this economy just plain sucks, no matter what day of the week you do the hunting. Employers can have their pick of the pack. There are no easy answers. However, one of the previous posters mentioned networking. That person is right. For people like you and I who essentially have no friends, the networking bit is a lot tougher. You may want to look in your area for an unemployed professionals support group or something like that. Joining any sort of a real life organization is one way to start networking in spite of the lack of friends.
