I have AS and want a better job to become more socialable... I have been thinking about sales. Any other idea?

I also have AS, and I don't think I could handle a job in sales, but everyone is different. Anything where you work as part of a team can be useful.

Personally I was always happiest working in IT.

I've been in the account management side of sales for years and I love it. There are a ton of gimmicky companies out there, so do your homework. If you have a family, a ton of bills, or not have a decent amount of money in the bank.....DON'T TAKE A STRAIGHT COMMISSION JOB. Either take a job that gives you a promised min paycheck or your will have a rough time your first few months to your first year.

Maybe retail, another type of customer relations/assistance job, or some other type of job where you work as part of a team. I had an on-campus job where I helped students/professors with computer-related issues (on the phone or they went to the office) and that helped me become more sociable.

Have you considered Marketing? Covers many different areas that get you out and about meeting and 'schmoozing'. Sounds like promotions would probably due you some good.

Sales is a rough business if you have to convince people to buy something from you. If it's a retail situation, that may be better. I don't know what it's like to have AS, but I see any kind of sales and customer service work as jobs that can really wear a person down. Customer Service work can be especially rough because you have to manage complaints all day long.

My friends who have had customer service and sales jobs come home after a long day of work and they don't want to look at or talk to anyone - they just want to sit on the couch and stare off into space. If you really like the sales idea, perhaps you can get into sales pertaining to something you're really interested in, or stuff you find yourself spending your own money on.

I also recommend looking on the government jobs website (if you're in the US), which is usajobs[dot]gov. You wouldn't believe how many different types of jobs there are. Enter some keywords and browse around - that may help you find some job descriptions that interest you.

Whatever you end up doing, I hope it pays you well and keeps you happy! Best wishes to you.
