henna is a good option as is using lemon or teas like chamomile in your final rinses or lightly sprayed onto hair. whats nice about using herbs & natural ways to color is it usually keeps hair moisturized while minimizing or virtually eliminating further damage. you can google keywords such as natural coloring or henna to see what options you have that you can do at home.

if experimenting with that doesn't work i would go to the pros. a good colorist is a priceless commodity in the beauty world.

good luck!

peroxide is the only way and what expensive salons would do for many $$$$s

have a friend with you, open windows and do not have cigarettes or candles around.

next time leave black to the naturals....it works best

You can buy a box dye. But you're never sure of the color it will turn out. You can bleach and then dye over it but you need a leave in conditioner so it won't turn to hay. You could do henna but it doesn't work very well although leaving no damage.

being that you hair is black, nothing over the counter is going to lighten it enough without doing damage!! Please, save up the money then go to a salon. You don't want your hair falling out or breaking. It's not worth it!

don't do henna, it dries out your hair and causes horrible breakage and split ends.

Go to a professional salon and get a free consultation. They will give you prices, options and explain the procedure to you.
