    i have had some bosses tell me in person that if a potential employee doesn't call to ask about the job after they have sent their application/resume, that the boss doesn't even give them a second thought. your potential employer wants to know that you are a go-getter and interested in the job. call once and ask to speak with someone in charge, ask them politely if they received and have had a chance to look over your resume, and ask about scheduling an interview. if it seems to be a dead end after that, then it's probably not the job for you.

    Sure. Did you send it to a person? Why not just call them and ask them if they had a chance to look over your resume. Say your were calling to follow up and to see if they had any questions. Then it puts a voice and personality to your resume. Though I agree w/ZombieRights, don't be a nuisance, just be accommodating.
