I just cuddled my cat. Do I need an SO?

Normally my cat's not in a cuddly mood, but since he's getting older and tired he sometimes lays on people now. People who've read my stuff probably already know, but I'll recap. I haven't had human contact in years, let alone affectionate contact. Anyway, I just cuddled with my cat for about a half hour before he left... It was epic. He normally doesn't like it when people touch him. ^_^
I haven't felt so loved in a long time...

Cats like to be cuddled. They pretend they don't, but really they do.

At least you're cuddling an animate object! I just cuddled my wall and will possibly get a boy-friend shaped pillow. >.>

The cat knew you needed it. They're more reliable than people anyway and love unconditionally.

Even cuddling a pet is making contact, reaching out to another living being. And it's good for them, too.

I don't think you necessarily need a SO just because your cat cuddled with you. I like to cuddle my two cats, and I'm perfectly happy with just the three of us. It's good to cuddle a cat. They can't affect love for you; if they act like they like you, then they do. It's refreshing to be around someone who always tells the truth. And who likes to be cuddled.

Not necessarily . . it is rare that a significant other will ever make you feel as loved as a pet, especially so a dog.

I always hug my dog, kiss his head, he sleeps pushing himself against me, etc...

I think you're okay. My friend has an affectionate cat. I haven't had any physical contact with anyone in almost two years, not even a hug (I moved very far away). I just try not to think about it.

you do... a girl from the country where you live but who's lived in yours for many years and speaks your language beautifully... who is ever changing but always seems to remain the same... who can look distant and aloof at times but who you can tell when she looks in your eyes that she understands you... and you feel like screaming... 'let's get the **** out of this place and go to the beach... enough with misery and hard times... let us rejoice and embrace the simple pleasures of love... I love you, Jessica...'
