I just got a call from a scam line but it had my boyfriend's voice in it, like he was trying to contact me?

Is he part of the scam?

It's a phone number that is associated with jails- a prisoner calls collect to your phone, you're supposed to enter your credit card number (never going to happen lol).

I cannot find him in the jail system. I've been looking for a few hours now to find him, he's not in the system.

How did the phone recording have his voice?
Is he trying to rob me???
