Frozen food lasts pretty much any amount of time. I've frozen fish for like, a year and it's fine. When do you plan on eating it? Soon, or in a week or what? Cos if soon like tomorrow or today or the day after tomorrow, get fresh but if later i'd go w/ frozen. or you could get fresh and freeze it when you get home.
Have bought salmon steak from supermarket, when cooking seemed to have broken apart quickly...for me that does not seem to be right. Have dealt with and cooked salmon abit. Was wondering though if this has happened has the salmon already been frozen?... and then sold thawed.
Fresh is always better. Some frozen products can last up to a year.
Fresh is always better. Frozen lasts forever, it just won't taste really good after a few decades.
fresh is the first choice, but frozen will certainly be edible. I think that frozen meat and fish is good for 3-6 mos. as long as it's well sealed.
In America, we are urged to buy wild salmon as opposed to farm-raised; better health benefits.
btw, salmon and the herb dill are delicious together...
if youre not making it that night or the night after go frozen. but fresh is ALWAYS better than frozen taste wise. as for how long frozen salmon lasts as long as its vacuum sealed it should last a while
