This may be a good opportunity for you to rediscover yourself. Explore some new hobbies and see what appeals to you. Sometimes people decide there is a need to change. Let your family and friends know that you are interested in developing yourself. I am not sure because I do not really know you or your family but they should be supportive of your decision. If you are feeling depressed, the feeling is very common this time of year and can occur for a number of reasons. Depression can be tackled but it's a slow process that takes a lot of small steps building on each other to make a person feel whole and somewhat happy. Figure out what makes you happy and then worry about how you can work things out with friends and family.

I second what the other's have said.

Additionally, as much as you don't want to... get some exercise. It works for me. Especially when I have that "I don't give a crap about anything" feeling.

Yes, it sounds like depression. You might want to read up on some of the stories in the depression groups. There are lots of different words of advice from lots of different people. No one option fits for everyone. Find what's best for you and your situation. *hugs*

You are fighting with Depression it seems and while I do believe that you can help yourself on a certain level I still think it is important to involve your Doc....even if he/she says the same thing about attempting to self heal etc it is part of what these professionals are here to help us with. Depression can be tough to deal with on your own so to bring in your friends and Doc it can help make you a success story:-)

Tinkerbell is right! Perhaps a visit to the Doctor to evaluate medications, could lift your spirits! I know it does for me. :-)

I agree with everyone. I go through this all of the time. It is definitely depression and you definitely want to go see a professional before it gets worse. You may think that it can't get worse, but I promise, it can. I have been battling depression without the support of my family for years now. Remember, if you don't have anyone you know to help you get through it, there's an entire world (internet) of people here to support you. Good Luck, and let me know if there's anything else I can help you with or questions I can answer.

see you physician. right away. i had the same thing happen - i was depressed. i've been taking anti-depressants for years now and am feeling so much better. i am involved in things i love to do, play with my dogs, love doing things with my husband, sex is great again, and so many things are better than before. don't wait. don't just sit in your house with the blinds drawn and do nothing like i did. see your doctor asap.

sounds as though you are experiencing anhedonia. although others here say you are experiencing depression - anhedonia, an inability to experience pleasure in pleasurable acts, is actually a symptom of depression.

is there anything going on in your life right now to cause this? has something changed recently, or are u ruminating about past experiences?

what are the ways that you cope with this? have you tried engaging in a new activity? do you go outside and simply get fresh air?

try some exercise, talk to your friends, laugh (surprising how healing laughter is)

if the problem lies deeper - consider speaking with a professional or if you know the root of the cause and can approach it yourself - work on that. could it be school related, family issues, bf troubles?

good luck!

i think you should see your doctor and tell him what's going on. it could be normal, or it could escalate to the point where youre actively hurting yourself physically, emotionally or financially.

Try to go out for a walk or listen to some light music. Calm down a bit.

You must be depressed or stressed out which can lead to depression. I also get that way. I find the best thing to do if you can is to get busy. Its hard..Good luck!

I don't know. Unless I'm depressed too. But I take a great amount of joy from life. Well, not waking up in the morning, that sucks. Maybe you just changed. If you are like, down, and blue, maybe that's depression. At least as I understand it. You are never happy and nothing makes you happy. But, if you feel you have a problem, you should probably do something about it. Me myself, I'm perfectly happy with the way I am.

take a little while to figure out why. even if its tough. the first step to getting out of that slump is to see why you're in it in the first place.

It sounds like you are slipping into a state of depression, so let me tell you what to do, plainly and simply: Do whatever you have to do to get your happiness back. Spend a few quiet moments with yourself every day; tune everything out and let your inner guide tell you where you need to go from here. I wish you luck in finding your happiness again; if you really want to you will.
