It is ground up corn.

Hominy. I believe grits are the entire piece of corn ground up and cooked down into tiny white pellety mush. People eat them in all different ways and, if you live in the south east of the USA, there are debates on the correct way to eat it.....salt and butter, salt and sugar, just butter, cheesy. My favorite way is with shrimp.

I know the Clampetts from teh beverley hillbillies liked them and I think they liked them on greenacres too

ground corn. same as polenta. i love them too! try them with salsa and cheese!
