I love this quote and find it totally applicable to my childhood as well as current life. Do you?

"When Mom's not happy, nobody's happy. When Dad's not happy, nobody cares." Bill Cosby. When I'm upset everyone in the house tries to make me feel better. When my boyfriend is upset, life goes on as usual.

Native Elder: “Sometimes I feel like I have two wolves fighting inside my chest, one full of love, the other half full of hate”
    Child: “Which one wins?”
    Elder: “The one I feed.”

HAHAHA! I'll have to try that comment out on my son. Although, he'll probably respond with something like "Ahhh, MOMster!" and run away before I can get to the fun part of the convo.

Since my father was borderline abusive and something of a narcissist, it was actually the opposite in my house when I was growing up.

However, that does apply to my current life situation, as if my gf isn't happy, I'm not going to be either.

That's part of the cost we men pay to be the boss. No body cares if I feel bad... until they need something. And a wise man will always give in to his woman when it comes to piddly stuff, knowing that his word is final when crap really matters.

And they accuse men of being sexist?

You know what! You're right! WTF :/ I almost always get my way but, there are times when all he has to do is give me a look and I know it's best to shut up now because whatever it is that I want is NOT happening and I just need to get over it. Damn it.... Did I just get out smarted?

No dear, not outsmarted, I'm sure you're quite intelligent. Males and females both have qualities that both make us unique, and a complement to each other... each generally has strong points that the other lacks. You just have to go on the female perspective; your main view is colored by how you FEEL about things. Males aren't hampered by a flood of emotion about everything... Thank God...so we get to see things more clearly sometimes. It's a wise man that listens to his woman, and avails himself of her strengths.. but every job has a foreman, and a marriage is no different. The man is better equipped in most cases to make the tough decisions.

That saying is true because you cannot reason with someone who reacts to everything emotionally. This is what women do. It's not a fault, it's just the way things are. Women are emotional beings.

There is a solution to it, but many times a woman does not want to hear it.

Unfortunately, so true! In the US, the most mail is sent on Mother's Day. Father's day is somewhere way down on the list! Also, the are so many Mother's day brunches and lunches, but Dad get a tuna sandwhich on his day - if he is lucky!

Because I know he thinks it's annoying when I try to talk about feelings. He comes around when he's ready. In my experience when men are upset they like to keep to themselves and think it over before talking. Women reek havoc on anyone in their way, so it's safest for everyone to make this better, QUICK.
