I m skinny & i exercise much.. but my frnd says not to exercise untill i gain sufficient weight!
i do pushups, squatts, bench press, barbell curl press, other weight lifting.. shoul live those exercise since it does not effect my body for weight gain but they help me getting nice figure

When you write "skinny" do you mean 5'6" 125 lbs or do you mean 5'6" 85lbs? Does your friend have concerns that you are anorexic and underweight or that you overdo it? If you are obsessed with exercise, underweight, and have body image issues, I can see where your friend is coming from.

Keep up the exercise. stopping to gain weight will only add fat.

It depends n how much you take in. If you are trying to build muscle and you consume enough not to lose weight but gain muscle, than you will build muscle if you are weight lifting.Like (1)

well i would keep hitting the wts for low reps to bulk up and eat six meals a day even set the alarm clock to eat but i would only do maybe twenty minutes of aerobics just for my hearts sake or stay away from aerobic activity altogether for awhile
its interesting that fat people gravitate towards wts and low level aerobics if any while skinny people will jump on bike and go for hours which is bass ackwards of course
