Motrin is the best. :) Also a lukewarm bath helps. Some pediatricians recommend alternating Motrin and Tylenol on persistent fevers but I think Motrin alone is fine. Do several baths through a time period and see if it helps.

If its not down after an hour or goes higher go to ER. Just remember some thermometers and different umm how else can I say this "reading locations" the temp could be off a whole degree or more. I was mean and always did my daughters in the bum when she was 2 and under.

I've heard that a cool bath is the quickest way to cool an excessively high temperature; but I agree, high temperatures are possible in babies because their immune system is new and less degraded and will actively combat an infection, causing temperature to rise. On the other hand, its less responsibility on you if your worried about it, to go to Emergency at hospital and let them deal with it. They will have had more experience; but conventional medical wisdom is not always the best, unfortunately...

104 degrees or up is considered deadly. NEVER USE RUBBING ALCOHOL! This raises the inner temp by causing your muscles to shiver due to the loss of outer heat. That has killed many childeren in the past. You could try baby asprin, but that could cause more problems. GET HIM TO THE ER AND GIVE HIM NOTHING IF HIS TEMP IS ABOVE 104!

If this is still referring to the toddler with a 104 temp like before....I'd be finding a different doctor, or at least be getting a second opinion. I've read that its dangerous for toddlers to get over 102.....(104 for adults) and if the little one has exceeded that....yeah. I'd find another doctor. Other than that give children's advil a try. Lots of liquids too.

Call the doctor. I'm not trying to be annoying posting this, it's just that you don't want to play around with a child's health. Someone might suggest something that could end up hurting your child.
