I HAD to naswer your question. In a word, NO, we are not all depressed. Many of us are happy, well-adjusted, and go throuh life with a positive attitude. Even when gray skies appear, most deal with neagtives in a positive manner, with the hope of learning from the negative, and dealing with future problems in a more positive, constructive way.
The flip side of that coin is dealing with hegative issues in a negative way, or not dealing with them at all. Do all of us have depressing things happen to us? Certainly, but we are functioning properly, and with a positive attitude about moving forward, and with the attitude that the depressive issues will be resolved, and are not permanent.
The issue I feel from your question is what is known as clinical depressed. This is the term most people and Drs. refer to as depressed. Now, most issues of depression are situational. There are many reasons why a person may be depressed, and not able to pull themselves out of their current depression, and may not have the DESIRE to pull themselve out...nor have the ability to. This group is the group that needs a little help, in dealing with their depression. There are many effective anti-depression medications available, and many programs, as well.
The most important thing, is to determine where each individual person is located.
People with depression seem to share many symptoms. Some are; lack of energy, fatigue, inability to sleep. excessive sleeping, eating disorders, lack of ambition, lack of sex drive or libido, headaches, abnormal crying, and many more.
The thing to remember is that there is available help in diagnosing depression, and effective treatment for depression.
I spek from experience...please, we need to not allow depression to consume ourselvesLike (3)

I think it's a matter of degree...I'm a generally pretty gloomy person, but it doesn't keep me from functioning. It's when depression keeps you from doing things that it starts to become chronic...at least I hope so

It's a lot of the reason why people don't take true depression all that seriously. "Everyone has bad days" is the usual reaction. It's when you're depressed and no matter what, you cannot get yourself out of that state of mind.

People who feel sad due to a particular situation are not depressed, they're just having a hard time for a definable reason like a loss. The term depressed is commonly misused; being depressed is actually verifiable because it is associated with severe changes in the brain chemistry. I assume most people who claim they are depressed only use the word because it sounds better than saying they have a ****** time.

Even people who are not depressed will feel symptoms of depression. If you were to be 100% happy all the time you would first go insane and then die. If you were depressed all the time you would probably stop moving, not even try to take your own life and then just die, we have to feel positive and negative emotions to survive. depression is when there are more negative than positive but nobody is ever 100% unhappy 24/7

Yes i think everyone has some depression at least during some part of their life. The most important thing to remember is not to let it consume you.
If you feel depressed, it is best to talk to someone who has it or has experienced it because they won't dismiss your feelings or make you feel worse.
They will listen, understand and help.Like (2)

More people feel it today than even 10 years ago. As i said, it is important to have the support you need from someone who has been to the bottom and back again. i have been there myself and been through it with others. Feel free to contact me if you want to talk more about it.Like (1)

You are referring to situational depression rather than clinical depression
