I really cannot believe how a 'BRIGHT' 19 year old Non-Swimmer would VOLUNTARILY jump off a seawall/into a lake?
He entered the water whilst wearing clothes and having fell of a seawall at night after apparently jumping in; but his girlfriend and mom testified saying he instead hung himself off the seawall and tried to retreive a waterbottle with his foot that had fell in) his girlfriend stated 'I tried to make it to him but he was 20 feet away from shore and his head went under' but what swim stroke would he have used to get that far? Did he just thrash around? Did he doggy-paddle to get to that length given the temperature?
the kid was thin, 19, and from news reports online, apparently couldn't swim at all, or could 'only doggy-paddle' (he screamed when he hit the water) but his mother who said that apparently hadn't seen him since he left at age 15 and her and him weren't close, from then he moved (next to lake michigan) and the close friends, girlfriend and her mom stated he could swim and he had been swimming with them many times. What gives? for more information search Michael Hilling and give your thoughts on this. Surely someone who knows they can't swim doesn't hang themselves off a bloody seawall! surely there has to be more to this?
