I want to buy a plane ticket to a foreign country an not tell my parents until I'm on the plane. Should I do it?

My parents keep going back on promises to let me travel for years now and it's not just a whim anymore. It's an obligation. I think this is the only way to make them realize how important this is to me. And our relationship deteriorates further every day. I'm not seeing any other recourse. They won't let me go unless I make them and I can't stay here much longer or I'll do something crazy.

You cannot legally travel without parental consent until you are 18 yrs of age. Doing so can get you in all sorts of trouble that you can not even imagine at your young age.

You are 17 - grow up! Foreign countries can be dangerous of all sorts of things. Especially for a gullible kid like you. When you are finally old enough join the Peace Corps and you will be all over the world and getting free money for college.

Sorry! I wouldn't encourage you if you are only 16- 17 yrs old!! Better to discuss with your parents first... traveling to a foreign country is not easy as you think and you need to have a full financial support, safe place to stay & travel

Wait until you are legal age before you start traveling alone. You don't realize how many problems you can find yourself in when you go to foreign countries alone....you may be setting yourself up to be an unwitting victim if you do.
