I suppose its possible to convert a mass driver into a giant railgun but as always theres a flaw in cost & effectivness

yes it would fire. i do not see or can i imagine scenario which presents a moon cannon as a good idea. as it may make cosmic species to see us as violent and warring race of beings. also' the cost would bee so huge. i wonder though if NASA ever landed any projects though on the dark side of the moon.

Yes it could fire, the oxygen needed for combustion is built into the cartridge. But not sure how effective a projectile weapon would be on a spacecraft designed to withstand asteroid impacts.

this may be true but i can't imagine they are designed to hold highly pressurized gas ie... one earth atmosphere in a vacuum. I think the gas would escape the the weapon would be ineffective if not useless.

The entire concept of a firearm is based on directing highly pressurized gas.

you will need a really big sling shot to get it up there, plus a lot of string tied to the trigger so you can shoot it, i just hope you dont miss
