My oldest son has been hospitalized many times. If your therapist recommends this treatment then go along with it.<br />
It allows you a chance to refocus your attention away from whats depressing you. They feed a healthy balanced diet and see that you get enough sleep and exercise. It allows them to observe you for future refrence too. Its not a punishment its a chance to recover and enjoy life.

Yes. It is helpful, but some of the rules make you feel like you are in prison. But, if you are that badly depressed, the short stay can change your perspective. It isn't a bad thing if you need it.
