I would like to know, Why does a man hold on to his ex, and will pass up a great girl?

Ok, another man secret that will send me to Hell: Men can't get over the fish that got away...ever. Doesn't matter if the woman hurt him, doesn't matter if she hates him, and I'm sorry, but sometimes it doesn't matter how much he loves you. That lost woman is always that terrible failure that makes us think all the time about what we did wrong. What mistake did I make? How did I screw up? What should I have done? The only question we refuse to ask ourselves is ; Should I REALLY be trying this hard for this??

Some times a guy leaves his wife for some reason, then once apart they find they miss that wife and want her back.
You say 4 wks , he is going through the stage of i want my wife and life back, And sadly you will be one to miss out if he go`s back.
But it pays to give him room and let him decide what he really wants and be prepared to loss him.

He is still in love with his ex

The best advice I can give is to cut your losses and walk away. If he is not over her then nothing will change. Even if you tried a relatinship with him, he would project his inner conflicts onto you somehow by abusing you with his mood swings and such. You deserve better! :)

Move on . While time does effect cures it passes much too quickly. For you to wait for him to heal the wounds to his ego, makes little sense and even worse the cure may never occur.
