If a woman has endometriosis, how long does she have to get pregnant before becoming infertile?
I am 26 and so far I had one surgery. I did not have any kids yet but I want to before it is too late and my endometriosis makes me infertile.

Endometriosis affects about 5-20% of women within reproductive years. And within that 30-40% of women with endometriosis are infertile therefore making it the leading cause of infertility. However it CAN be treated with success through surgical intervention.

Keep a close relationship with your doctor and continue to talk to them about trying to become pregnant during post surgery time periods and of course listen to your body!! A time period isnt really something that can be acutely measured but doing the normal things while keeping your docotr aware and asking questions will keep you informed as much as possible:-)

Good Luck to you my friend:-)

It can vary a lot from woman to woman - your doctor should be able to advise you on this. One thing to be really careful about if you do decide to get pregnant: tubal pregnancy. My mother almost died from one. It is much more likely to happen in women with endometriosis.

Another thing you might try - it can't hurt - is eating an all organic/hormone free diet and avoid storing food in plastic. Avoiding biomimetic estrogens may slow the progress of endometriosis.

As a 30 year old woman with similar experience, I wonder the same. I just hope the right man will come along who will love attempting to make babies with me. I have never gotten a clear answer from my Gyns.

I can't say for sure, because my appendix ruptured as a teen and I got my endo before I got married. I guess basically been infertile since my teen years. However, I have been so blessed. I married I great guy who did not care about that part and we became foster parents and adopted a wonderful kid.

I knew since my high school years I may never get pregnant, but when I was told in my thirties it really bothered me. I would like just like other women to know that there is life after infertility!

Well this is a question I once had at the age of 18 when they first discovered I had endo. I am now 31 and have lost 3 babies, had 8 laporscopes, 6 IUI (inter-uterine insemination) with no sucess, and just found out that my endo is back. I think that every women's body is different but my Dr. started pushing the pregnancy thing the day they found mine at 18yrs. I am now headed for invitro :(
Good Luck to you!!!!

You can ask it in this website:

I am not sure. But I used to view doctors answer people's asking there. It is useful .
