If you lock your wife or girlfriend and your dog in the trunk of your car for an hour, witch one will be happier to see you when you let them out?

If I could live amongst elephants that would be the experience. They do show emotion and are very loyal too. Elephants released in to the wild do remember their carers even 20 years on.

Cows, they're almost as loyal as a dog and they always give that 'I understand' expression like dogs do.

Mankind's best friend, regardless of other animals, has deep down always been its peers. Over decades and centuries we've fought, collaborated, loved, hated and evolved. I think we need to look around us and see that we've been our own best friend all along.

One would hope that man's best friend could eventually be none other than his fellow man. But, since that's probably not the answer you're looking for, I vote for a tiger.

Tigers are pretty d*mn cute. And pissy. But mostly cute!

Ok so this may seem odd, but we had a mini pony growing up that acted just like a dog. You could play fetch with her, she'd go everywhere with us. She even would make noises if people showed up at the house or were walking by. So my vote is for mini ponies!

Probably cats....since they're the second closest animal associated with humans.
