use a white sauce ~ milk, flour & butter ~ there's a fancy name but I forget what it is, melt the butter and sift in flour, stir, add mild, whisk until smooth and thick, it's a basic gravy base, so you can flavour this sauce as you like....mmmmm love mac & chez

After boiling & draining the macaroni, add 1/2 stick of butter [that is already soft from being taken out of the refrigerator to soften] & the powdered "cheese" at the same time, stir together with a fork. Don't use ANY milk. This works for me every time. The only drawback is waiting for the butter to soften before boiling the macaroni - sometimes it can take a while.

I noticed that too when I used to make "Cheesey Noodle Soup" ... that's what I used to call it anyway ...

Cheesy Mac soup. Try adding brocoli to it. What I do with the noodles, I normally let it cool down first and then chop the noodles up. My bf is a chef and he likes how I do it.

Make sure your measuring cup is accurate. I'd been using a 2.5 cup for a while thinking it was a 2 cup. It did make a difference.
