Women an Xbox's are very similar.

That need to stick something in the device to play with, if their controller runs out of batteries, they become usless, and as soon as it's game over, they turn the power off.

Stupid video games :/

my husband wants an xbox as well, and I refused to contribute to the cost of it and the games. Because i know he'll end up playing it, when he could be spending quality time with me and our family. I wont allow some toy to interfere with our relationship. It doesnt mean he loves you less, i guess the xbox at times is his way of relieving stress and enjoyment. I dont think its an offended action towards you. Unless there is more to it.

Hmmm, maybe if you also functioned as a bluray player he'd be more attentive?

No, it means he's your husband, nothing more.
Try, 'Honey, can we talk?'. That usually does it. Also, 'I need 3 AA batteries for tonight', works sometimes.

nah its just a primal thing

now we dont have to go out and hunt/kill to survive other things must fill that void.

men are genetically predisposed to fullfilling the requirement to hunt/kill

as long as he doesn't do this all the time just let it be

he could be out there chasing other women or propping up bars

give him his free time

I have an Xbox and since I'm in a relationship my partner won't let me play that much anymore and it really ****** me off. It's not because I love them less but I don't wanna spend 24/7 around them and it's nice to have some seperate time and do something you like for yourself. I mean, if your husband plays xbox go and have some coffee with your girlfriends? ;-) People spend too much time together nowadays....u would think they were born together...it's very very very much taking my breath away....I sometimes need air to breath and so does he.

i think you should set some strict rules of when he should play the darn thing. xboxs are a joy killer of all relationships. and they are completely addictive.

No. It means he just loves video games. I don't like video games that much. They get boring.

Nah... this just keans you should disrobe down to your sexiest panties, walk over to him so he sees you coming, lean over and tell him in a whisper, "I've got a game we can both play, and isnt JUST visually stimulating." Well, it would work for me.

It doesn't mean he loves you any less. It just means he found a toy he likes playing with. :) Don't get to bent about it or that will make him want to play it more and also feel guilty about playing. It'll end bad.

No not at all.
He is addicted, like if he was a drug addict, he would still love you more than the drugs.
But the drugs would take precedence.

How could he love you less, mrs macc! He just needs to switch off his brain.

BUT - don't give up. Negotiate time with him in advance - like - let's watch a movie tomorrow night. Then when he is on x-box - don't make him feel bad unless he's breaking an agreement.

It certainly doesn't mean he loves you less, but it could be he is taking you for granted a little. Having said that, I know from personal experience that video games can be addictive and easily steal one's attention from more important things in life - personal relationships, professional responsibilities, school work, etc. Let him know that his squandering so much free time playing X-Box is making you feel neglected. He may not realize how much time he is actually devoting to game play the same way many alcoholic do not consciously realize how much they actually drink until someone else points it out.
