If someone close to you wanted to get plastic surgery, would you convince them not to or respect their decision?

I don't know how the conversation got started, but my family and I ended up on the subject of plastic surgery. When I said that I wanted to get a nose job someday, among other things, they told me I didn't need it. I know what I see when I look in the mirror, and why do they care? Furthermore, they're a big reason why I have low self esteem anyway.

i would respect their decision ofcourse. trying to talk someone out of what they have already decided (if their decision doesn't hurt no one) is in my opinion disrespectful. i feel like i would think to myself "how dare you try to give me orders on how to live my life" if you haven't asked for their opinion or advice then they are being busybodies;)

Tell them to do an a$$-load of research first, then leave them be.

It would not help You. honestly. Unless You are grosly difigured, you will NEVER be really happy with wahtever You do to your apparence. Far better to accept inperfections.

I understand what you're saying. But honestly, I don't feel I should have to accept them when I know there's something that I can do to fix them.

I'm very pro-plastic surgery, especially since I'm nearing 40. I haven't told anyone in my family about my Botox, Restyline plans, but if they say - "Gee, you look great!", I'll just tell them that I'm finally in love...
