you must've been trained by parents that felt socially inadequate to express themselves freely in public. If there is a bowl of candy at a receptionist's desk it is obviously so people help themselves. Or would it make you feel better if the receptionist unwrapped it and fed it to you in a silver spoon? pff

That would depend on the type/quality of the candy and which way the receptionist was facing...why? I think that is self explanatory
