If there was a fire at your home, would you go back in to save your pet or pets?

I have fish and hermit crabs and I don't think I would risk my life going back into a fire to save them. If it were a cat or dog I probably would. I have to add that I wouldn't intentionally leave an animal, but I would have to save my kids first.

As crazy as it sounds, yes I would. Pets become family members and losing one puts me to bed for weeks. I recently lost my Rottweiler and it almost killed me. They depend on us. I would be crazy enough to risk my life to save one of my pets.

I wouldn't go back in because I wouldn't leave without them in the first place.

go back? I wouldn't leave without them in the first place.. none of them... they trust me and they love me unconditionaly.. I wouldn't consider leaving them behind and saving myself.. besides.. I always know I will be fine it's everyone else I need to worry about. God takes perfectly good care of me and expects me to do the same for those in my charge. If they died I would die with them..and no one who knows me would be even the tinest bit surprised.

My pets would be right behind me like they always are so we'd ALL get out safely. If one of them lagged behind though, I would go back in.

I wouldn't leave without my dogs. When my kids were home, I woulda gone for them--now the pets absolutely. When I leave no matter the temperature, I always leave the low living room window open enough for them to get out. I read an article by a fire investigator and he said that you could always spot a fraudulent fire claim because the pets were elsewhere. As well as the photo albums. Like--oh, my cat was at the vet and my photos are at the videographer being put on disc.

You bet! If you are living in my home, your safety is my responsibility. It doesn't matter if you are a person or an animal. If I didn't feel fit for that job, I shouldn't have taken you in.

I would never leave the building without him, but if I had, Yes I most definetly would... When i was 5 years old, we had a house fire.. My mom carried me and dragged my older brother out of the burning building and then went back in for her purse... (it had EVERYTHIN in it)... She also grabbed two photo albums.. Mine and my brothers.. Unfortunatly My photo album didnt have very many of my baby pics in it.

I can't get out of the house without ole' Trixie being right at my feet, she'd be leading the way. But if she was trapped or something- hell yeah, I'd be saving my girl!!
