If this isn't Biblical reincarnation, what is it?

Matthew 17:12 "...Elijiah has already come and they did not recognize him but did with him the things they wanted. In this way ALSO the Son of man is destined to suffer at their hands.", i.e. Elijiah had reincarnated AS (Matthew 17:13) "Then the disciples perceived that he spoke to them about JOHN THE BAPTIST." These are Jesus' words to the disciples present at his transfiguration. They had been EXPECTING Elijiah to reincarnate and Jesus confirmed it!!!

lifeseemstobeallabouttv: So YOU can actually SEE the Father? On TV? Hope he can catch his breath or he'll die laughing. ROFLMAO!!!

lambie: one doesn't cut the head off ATTRIBUTES, one cuts off the head of the reincarnated Elijah.

Allofus: twisted? What is twisted? These ARE the straight words. Feel freeed..anybody..to twist scriptures you haven't even read. It's called ignorance. At least I've read a variety of viewpoints embracing the one making the most sense as AngelaDark articulates.
Still, thanks 4 anwering

I think - no, I BELIEVE that many many theories and beliefs are in the Bible... I don't understand why there is so much intolerance in Christian and Jewish religions...

There is science and mathematics in the Christian Bible...

There is Buddhism in the Christian Bible...

There is Hinduism in the Christian Bible...

There is Native American beliefs in the Christian Bible...

And much more... if you are willing to see it... It is seriously fascinating to me...

I don't know enough about the bible to give any kind of opinion. However, this sounds like a interesting concept.

This story was in the Book of Roger. It was left out of the current version of the Bible.

If I understand the Scripture correctly that Jesus spoke of when mentioning Elijah, he was speaking of himself, according to what the Old Testament Prophets had prophesied concerning him. His birth in coming unto the Jewish race, BUT they refused to recognized Him, as the Messiah, they so long waited and some are still waiting for today. Not John the Baptist, as he pronounced himself even unworthy, to untie Jesus sandals. So how could one that pronounced himself as unworthy to even untie the shoe of Christ be considered a 'guru' to Christ? Jesus also spoke in other Scriptures, about how he had not come to do away with the "Law", but to fulfill the Law spoken of by the Prophets such as, Isaiah and Jeremiah. Jesus, was the ultimate 'guru' and their has been no other His equal and never shall be. There are prophets but none can equal Jesus, in word or deed.

As much as you try and twist the Bible to say things it planly does not is interesting. Would you feel the same way about those twisting the book you follow. Why is it so important to dishonour the Bible for you. Straight questions sure but this you have to work at to get to.
