As people have said above me on here, identical twins come from one egg being split. They would just be regular cousins who no doubt would look very similar.

by chance only. The kids would be siblings to each other as they have the same maternal and paternal DNA even though physically the parents are different.............

we need 2 sets of twins to volunteer to participate in this social experiment.

Not possible to be identical as they do not split from the same egg. Similar perhaps.

As one of a pair of twins, I get questions like that more than often. The answer is "no." Sleepless in LA has it right. Genetics plays a huge part but there is only a 1 in 4 chance that the offspring would be identical.

No, we didn't. I am just a scientist with an understanding of genetic permutations. 2 people have 2 sets of available genetic code and each have recessive and dominant genes, only two of which will combine to make a new life. The number of permutations available would be 2 X 2 X 1 or 4 possible. Between the two families of twins marrying twins, the odds of identical offspring is not zero (1 in 8 actually, now that I think of it) but there is a better chance of them not being identical.Like (1)

Biologically they would be siblings. They would look similar but only as much as a normal set of brothers or sisters.

No, the DNA split is different every time. Identical twins come from a split on the second cell division.

hmm, that would be interesting to see, just how do the genes and dna mix and come up with what.......??:D
