You can't judge a book by the cover. The cover might look tattered and torn with jagged spikes sticking out every which way but that doesn't mean the book "person" isn't likeable. It might mean they have a thick skin and it's hard to get inside. Once inside they could be just as nice and loveable as anyone else. However some people will never let down there defense for fear of being burned too many times.

@chronomantique It could be as simple as someone fits better into a certain group and their intent isn't to hurt or exclude any other group on purpose.

Or,

Speaking about is more along the lines of "racism" to some extent even if race isn't involved (Group racism). The whole point being to exclude the other group to alienate them.

Depends on the intentions of the group as a whole.

I have been meaning to ask this question! When out with my friends, I could be the most extrovert person in the group but when I am with family with their friends or at a new place I try to mingle but my parents end up with the conclusion that I am anti-social. They think my communication skills are poor. But I don't know how to explain to them that it's not being anti-social, it's just certain people require certain types of people (with similar ideology/philosophy, characteristics) to gel with and open up to.
