The "pittance of a salary" offered at Ivy League schools for teachers is likely to be more than I make now, so YES! Plus, it is rather prestigious to be able to put that on your resume. You could probably go anywhere and maybe do better financially after having taught in an Ivy League school.

It really depends on the benefits for me. If I could just barely support myself on the salary but they provided free health care and plenty of time off for example I would be happy to do it if the work made me happy. But that is for any place really.

Hell no. My skills are valuable and they demand a high price. And any damn fool who would work (teach) for peanuts can not be any good at what he or she does and so would make a rotton teacher because you can not teach skills that you do not have.
