Every person should have their own identity - your identity should never match your friends - that would be boring.

Without friends though, life would be lonely.

Who I am is better off. I lived the life of having way too many so called friends over the years and because of the lies, using, back stabbing, cruelty, callousness, and two faced actions I don't have "friends" and I certainly don't want any at this point in my life. I'm much better off without that stress and drama messing up my day to day existence!!! I was a friend but didn't have any.

What you are is a lonely person. Try reaching out to people and getting to know them. You might be surprised at how easy making friends can be.

I've never heard this phrase before, but can tell you whole heartedly it is not true.

If I were who my friends are I'd be a "man-slaughtering"-fickle-junkie with no direction. I love my friends, but I am not them.

If you have no friends and you're asking this question - you're lonely - find a friend.

You are who you choose to be. Friends come and go, and you'll learn something from each of them. Use it to make yourself a better person.

You need to be who you are, not who your friends are. You have to be an individual who thinks on their own and isn't influence by others or gives up being themselves to become someone else. Never lose your identity for the sake of having friends. So, on that note, I would still be me, with or without friends.....

That old saying is misleading. You're always just you.Friends may be an extensions of your taste, in the company you keep.It stops there.
