You friends are you friends, along with their *other* friends and your other friends; remember here that to look at and pick out your best friends is for them (and you) to remove yourself from the bigger circle of friends that, although you don;t realise it, they are equally important.<br />

If you look at the likes of Big Brother (and such) it doesn't take long for the people to start falling out with those around them. Put people into a confined space, and sooner than later they will begin to change. That happens because they are outside their circle and, instead, penned into a much smaller one. Human behavour isn't always as we see it, and this is how the likes of Big Brother works because it plays out on the principle that if people are put into close confines with limited contact, eventually they *will* begin to crumble in how they see people.<br />

It's a very romantic thought, it's an idyllic thought. But the reality would be far from this :)<br />
