If you could have dinner/meal/cocktails with any person, past or present, who would it be and why?
I would have dinner with Hitler... and poison that bastard. I would have a meal with Genghis Khan because who wouldn't want to eat a meal with your hands amongst wild barbarians. I would have a cocktail with DaVinci and just try to pick his brain.

Present: Dave Pelzer, because he's a hero of mine and I admire his courage; The West Memphis Three, because it would mean that they had been released from prison; Mary Roach, because the dinner conversation would be fascinating; or J.K. Rowling, for the creative inspiration.

Past: My brother, because I miss him dearly; Christopher Reeve, because he had more tenacity in his little finger than most people have in their entire bodies; Jesus, because there are so many questions that I'd like to ask him; and Mitch Hedburg, because he always made me laugh.

I'd like to have Dinner with Kahlil Gibran because I like the way he looks at things. I'd have a meal with Jesus because He seems like the type you could just relax around and be yourself. I'd have cocktails with Steve Buscemi because he's hilarious and someone you'd want to have a drink with. I know the question wasn't meant to be broken up into three parts -but for me -it was a three part deal.

Jesus Christ, of course!

I'd like to taste his own brand wine. I also enjoy seafood and bread. I would ask him what he meant about a camel passing through the eye of a needle. (I have a feeling something was lost in translation here).

[.... OMG!... I hope he speaks English!]

Swedish Theologian
Soren Kirkkegaard

He fascinates me, his quotes are so on the money, he was a forward thinker, and I think he is so brilliant, Yet he only lived just over 40 years

John Douglas, the founder of the FBI's Behavioural science unit. He seems to have led a very colourful life, even when you put his work with the FBI aside.
Or.....
Laurell K Hamilton because I would kill several important people just to be allowed to talk to her for a while and learn from her lol.

I know most people come up with a famous person for this question but not for me. I do believe it would have to be a very important person for my past. I haven't seen him in awhile and would love to see him again.

I don't really understand the difference between dinner and a meal, but ok.

I'd have dinner with Wolfgang Puck because I want to taste world class cooking.

I'd have a meal with the Dalai Lama because I saw him once on Barbara Walters and he impressed me more than anybody ever has in my life. I'd love to spend an evening listening to what he has to say.

And I'd have drinks with Johnny Depp (before he got married) and get him good and drunk. But not TOO drunk. :P

This is one of the few times I'll answer without looking at other answers. I'd love a long meal, drinks and conversation with David Letterman, Barak Obama, George Harrison, John Lennon (Without Yoko), Robert Kennedy, Kurt Vonnegut and Sojourner Truth. These are only some of my heroes, for their courage, creativity and wit.

I would have dinner with Isaac Asimov. He wrote or edited more than 500 books, many of which were not science fiction. I would love to pick his brains.

My Father. Because he died too young and I lost the ability to feel loved at age 8 when he died. I would want that last supper with him, because after all he was only going out for a jar of spagetti sauce and never came home. He died on the store floor because the town we lived in we were outsiders and they figured if he died we would move out. **** next time jst say so instead of killing the father of 7 young kids ********!!! Sorry it still hurts after all these years.
