If i could read minds i would read the minds of animals to make up for not being able to understand their language, especially my cat Phoebe so i could know when she is planning to make another attack on poor Telly and to find out what she has against her. I would want to know her thoughts so i could know how much she is secretly in pain for the loss of her brother, she has to bottle that in because she can't confide in me, i don't understand meow and so what i think is happening is she is using Telly as a punch it to release that anger and grief and confusion, her brother Midnights died a few months back. I believe that cats have just as much ability of emotion as humans.
