Thank God that the British subjects living in the American colonies of King George III didn't leave when they professed their dislike of their country in 1776.

Some people dislike their country but are willing to stay to make changes in making it better.
If one is not interested in fighting for the cause or injustice that they disdain they should shut up or get out.

Wow. I am in some mood today, aren't I?
Watch out, the ***** woke up.

If you don't like your marriage, why don't you leave?
It's called working on the issues, fighting to solve the issues. Yes the country sucks major right now but I have faith everything will improve for us. Just cuz you don't like something right now, doesn't mean you never will. Like how as a little kid I hated spinach but my taste buds changed, and now I like it.

I live in Britain. I was born here.

I would like Britain to be a free country and I am inclined to stay here and fight for that goal. If you can't handle that, I suggest you go sit on your thumb.

As for people born elsewhere, I'm sure that many of them feel the same way about their native countries.

ha, the old "love it or leave it" mentality. I thought everyone who embraced that mentality died off last century, no?

Anyway, the obvious answer is: this is not "my" country. It's just a lump of soil that I live on. I'm free to do as I wish not based on a country's law but based on my own. If those two laws conflict, I'm thrown in a jail cell or killed. This doesn't scare me or excite me. It just helps to define where I live. Which, like I stated, is not "mine".

On the other hand, this is "my" world, and you'll never find it on a map. Geography doesn't define me. I'll be as big a troublemaker in America as I will be anywhere else, and keep laughing at anyone who needs to love or leave a lump of soil in order to define themselves.

Because our Constitution provides for remedies....we''re supposed to be able to "petition our government for the redress of grievances".

Its not about not liking something in my country. Its about seeing problems that affect many....and having a system for improving things. Who would want to leave if they can do that??????

Because there is nowhere better to go. Plus I'm broke, and don't speak thier language, and, most of all, I'm American. In it to the end. And, In it to win it.
