according to a documentary i watched the theory is that you would get almost to the other side and start falling back the other way. like a yo-yo that would be perpetual

The falling energy would be less each time exponentially as the height and fall decreases per side-eventually you would get to dead centre and be trapped by gravity at the focus of the mass. Ofcourse apart from the physics folks are right about the molten core (a side effect of mass on rock) and general pressure, that is why planets are spheroid

the dude on tv said that the centrifugal force would account for the loss of energy, keeping the momentum from depleting. unless of course the hole was from N to S pole to pole or close to it. as for the heat, do you really think i didnt know that?

If you actually had a hole all the way through you would fall to some high speed in the center and your momentum would carry you way up the other side. Air resistance would slow you so you would not reach the top on the other side. You would probably then fall back down, etc. until you stopped in the center.

You would fall, reach the center, then gravity would work against you and once you came to a stop you would start to fall in the opposite direction. I think.

It really wouldn't matter as you would be dead, baked, and crispy long before you made it to the center.

If the tube was sealed and a perfect vacuum, you would make it to the other side, otherwise air resistance would slow you down enough you wouldn't have the speed to make it.

I would go through and fall in space at the other side.

You would burn up in the molten lava before you hit the iron core.

Finally, an excellent question. i'm pretty sure you would get stuck in the middle. I've pondered this for years.
