    The hotspot is just access to the net. If a password is blocking it then you will still need the password.

    No. Someone told me that they couldn't use this Mi-Fi on their computer for anything that requires a password because it wont work.

    I don't understand the type of wifi that would be. I know of a few ways to create hotspots.

    A hot spot is just a wi fi area where you can connect to the internet. You can connect to any site that is on the internet once you are connected. If the website (on the internet) requires a password then, as you must know what it is, just enter it and continue on your way. If you have saved your passwords on your home computer and it is set to automatically insert them for you (and you can't remember them) then you are screwed.. good luck with that. Anyone who tells you different is either a liar or doesn't know what they are talking about..

    I'm thinking about cancelling my wireless internet that's $80 a month and getting a cell phone with the MiFi, but I want to make sure I can still access bank accounts and order things on my laptop.
