I personally wouldn't get it whether I was exposed to it or not.

I got very sick a few weeks ago and they thought I my have had the flu, so they made me get a vaccine. Turns out I didn't have the flu, but got the shot anyway.e

Both are conjectures and are uncertainties, so as a medical doctor I would advice you to still to get the H1N1 influenza vaccine - it is perfectly safe - 21 States required all their health care workers to get the shot - some 9 million people (California being the largest state), which includes nursing home workers, hospitals, psychiatric clinics and hospitals, day health clinics, all EMT workers for the fire department and rescue squads -and not one individual out of the entire 9 million complained of any reverse reaction from having taken the H1N1 vaccine - so my medical advice is when it is available in your area is to get it. If you fall into one of the high-risk groups (examples are under 24; pregnant; underlying conditions like asthma), I would get the vaccine unless you are 95 percent sure you were exposed earlier, in which case I wouldn't get the vaccine. If I'm not in a high-risk group and think I've been exposed more than 50-50 chance, no vaccine.
