Pretty much whatever she wanted growing up. At around 5 her favorite show was some documentary series showing operations like open heart surgery. The only TV that ever bothered her was the TV news because she knew that was real. She grew up watching sci-fi and horror with me and I made sure she realized that those things weren't real, they were all make-up and special effects.
I'll find for my kids more interesting kind of interaction instead of thinking how to get rid of them.
I saw how little kids growing nowadays - like cable-generation.
My kids were pretty much allowed to watch whatever they wanted... they seemed to make pretty good choices on their own, and really didn't spend much time watching television anyway.
I had a harder time limiting their video game playing, if I didn't set a time limit, they'd sit there all day, either playing themselves or watching their siblings until it was their turn.
