    If I'm in love with that person, yes. But if it's just about dating, seeing where it goes, then no. Plenty of other fish in the sea. Not worth alienating a friend over.

    No way! That would break some very simple rules of conduct. I guess if you decided to date that person anyway, your "friend", if they had any balls, would remove you from speed dial & cut their losses.

    NEVER!!!!! I make friends for life. I would never risk breaking that trust and bond that we've built on for years just to date a guy.
