I supposed if you pray to have good dreams. But you have to have real faith in the words you pray. Praying on a whim or just to try it out isn't real prayer. It just seems like you're testing God. You must truly believe and have solid faith in all you pray for. There have been plenty of times when I've prayed for something and I didn't think it would come true at all. Now I pray and believe with all my heart and a lot of things have come. God is like a real friend that I talk to 24/7 all the time. I take him very seriously and truly believe he's there. If you don't believe in your prayer then why should God? I just say don't pray if you don't have true faith that the prayer will be.I myself find my mind racing at night with thoughts, so usually I pray for peace of mind and close my eyes before I go to sleep and I have pretty good sleep alot of times.

I have never prayed in my life but had lots of good dreams as well as bad. I think it depends on your state of mind and circumstances at the time.

I don't pray so much as think about what I am grateful for. I find when I do this before bed, I do sleep more soundly.

Of course!
Religion is the opiate of the masses.
He who believes that praying before sleep will benefit him will naturally be more relaxed and this can lead to better dreams.
It's the placebo effect.

No, why would you? You can talk to your nightstand to but it won't effect your dreams. (at least the night stand is real though)

Praying wouldn't necessarily gaurantee you of having good dreams or thoughts, but it would certainly help.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

hi :}
yes whatever is meant with a good intent will help facilatate dreams .it can be praying ,being thankul [as someone else suggested ]simply asking for a dream with again the right intent ,for insight and help .
personally i feel lost without having my dreams they have helped me many many times in my life ,i REMEMBER my dreams 3 or 4 times a week .
also keep in mind to not move around ,jump out of bed ,or have some annoying alarm waking you up these are killers of your dream recall .everyone dreams but people who say they dont, simply dont care too remember them .
