Trick question? I was always told to not pet service dogs because they are working. I've met a few in my life, and the people always let me pat them.

No I am always curious what peoples thought process on it. I have a SD and before I did, I was taught not to even give the dogs eye contact, just completely ignore them.

Me too, but then one of my class mates in uni was blind and had a service dog and when we were sitting down in class the dog used to roll over so we could all rub his tummy. Guess it depends on the person and the dog. I love service dogs. They are incredible.
