If it was a gorgeous day like it is here today it'd have to be BBQ. Grilled garlic & herb Buffalo rib-eye steaks with grilled sweet Vidalia onions, baked sweet potatoes smothered in butter, cole slaw, corn on the cob, steamed baby asparagus, and a cherry cheesecake for dessert.

I would make my world famous turkey bolognaise.... and then they'd probably turn out to be vegetarian.
Hmmm, actually to be on the safe side, it would be mushroom stroganoff - no room for error there :)

Braised beef short ribs, Chantrelle mushroom risotto, and a spinach salad with feta, apples, pecans, dried cranberries and balsamic vinaigrette.
If it was for a date, I may make sauteed Brussels sprouts topped with parmesian to make sure that he was willing to eat whatever I cooked! (That and I actually like sauteed brussels sprouts :-P )

I would get an idea of things they really like and then decide from there. My wife enjoys my cooking and even when I experiment, Ive gotten no complaints from her. I have also introduced her to "new" foods that she has never even tried before, and have gotten her to like things she never cared much for. There has only been two times that she didnt like it.

steak, medium rare, noodle soup as appetizers of course, with a white rice dish on the side....steamed dumplings also....and a nice bottle of coke for fun....the wine would go better with the steak, but coke is the answer for almost anything...

I would make my vegetarian lasagna rolls with ricotta cheese, spinach, zuchinii, carrots and tomato sauce.

Served with warm buttery garlic bread and fresh salad.

For dessert, I would serve homemade cookies and cold milk.
