If you were left on the moon to die....?
....would you take your own helmet off, if so when, or would you just wait for the oxygen to run out?

I'd scratch my name or initials in the dust, large enough letters to be seen from Earth. Sort of a big FU to those that left me behind. We're talking pretty big letters here. So, I would want to have the oxygen last as long as possible.

It would be worth it to have experienced a few moments on the moon, however short they were. I would enjoy every last second!

haha.. just have fun and make full use of the low gravity environment to do super high jumps. Perhaps even try to hunt for E.Ts and if possible, jump high enough to float off into space for an endless journey. I guess that'll be an experience of a lifetime... To be able to live your last moments like that is not bad. :p

I think I'd wait for the oxygen to run out. I would spend my last moments remembering the people, places, things and events that meant the most to me. I would try and be at peace with myself and all else while finding comfort in the beauty that we silently hold within...the residue of our experiences and journey through life. I'd offer a silent prayer of thanks and hope for all I would be leaving behind.

Moon walk?

But uh. Who ever is thinking of taking their helmet off should watch the ending of Total Recall. Near vacuums are not pleasant places for humans to be.

Look at the Earth and the scenery, wait with excitement to your next life and give out loving thoughts to those who has been left behind.

They say that dying that way - lack of oxygen - is painless. You just sort of hallucinate away. I am not afraid of death but I danged sure don't like pain. I think I would get comfortable, sit there in my helmet watching the earth rise and pass on.

Excuse me, maybe I'm way off here, but isn't a lack of oxygen... suffication? (IE), drowning, 500 lbs on your chest, etc.? I don't see that as potensially a pleasant experience. I could be misstaken however.

well first i would giv up veganism and eat the moon! (im sure its natural cheese anyway xP) then without the gravitation pull of the moon i could go back to earth and burn up in the atmosphere =D

The exposure to space would be a much more painful way to go than slowly passing from lack of oxygen. On that note, I'd probably leave my helmet on and try to leave a message to the people I love. In any case, what a way to go. I can think of nothing better than staring back at that big blue marble.

I wouldn't take my helmet off. I'd try to find the site of the original moon landing and I'd die standing next to little flag we put there flipping off the Earth.

I'd wait for the oxygen to run out, then take my helmet off. That way I get the best of both worlds.

I'd probably etch-a-sketch out an "I love you" into the moondust instead, Not much of a hater, and since I'm in space, I must have known that there's a pretty decent chance I could give up the ghost.

But, in the VERY end, I'd probably pee myself. Not because I'm scared, but because it feels kinda good. Works in the wetsuit. And, then I'd take off the helmet when the lack of air started giving me a headache. I don't wanna die with a headache. I'd rather be screaming my last breath out like hillbillies do when performing their own stunts.

Well in terms of dying (suffocation) it wouldn't make a difference....Therefore, i wouldn't take the helmet off. I'd want to make most of the time i had left to breathe. I would admire the surroundings i.e. the view of the Earth. It would be a pretty cool way to die.

I would pop the sucker off and make a quick end to it so that I could begin my next mysterious journey.
