    No, prayer is to give thanks for what is given. Not giving thanks means you get no more and maybe even lose what was given.

    prayer has always been obsolete. for me, anyways...& they have found through studies of terminally ill patients, when someone said to them "i'll pray for you" they typically either took longer to improve or got worse by comparison to the patients that didn't...which is quite interesting. almost like they had some sort of performance anxiety in the fear they might let down those people's (& probably their own) beliefs!
